Wassmer 2010 Christmas Party

We had another great Wassmer Christmas party. It started with Dad and Margie arriving from Ut. We then headed over to my school where Kerry, Kelly and families hooked up with us. Kerry brought an extra fun surprise, Kevin!!! Bryant was so excited. WE all knew he was coming so it was a hard secret to keep. WE then attempted to break the beautiful Santa sack that Kerry made. She is definitely the Queen of pinata making. Afterwards we went to Chuy's Mexican Restaurant where we all enjoyed great food. Finally we ended up back home where we played our traditional Candy bar game and The famous Wassmer Christmas Tree Game. This was introduced to all Wassmer family members by our Grandma Wassmer. I did add a few Minute To Win It games in the mix. We enjoyed each other laughed and played. We sure missed Kyle and his family though. For some reason they thought Disneyland sounded more fun...lol! Maybe next year.

Cabbage, Cabbage, Cabbage

We love to plant cabbage in our garden. Cabbage means lots of Pei Mei salad for those hot summer days. My whole family digs in and loves the refreshing salad that seems to hit the spot. Not only is it served for dinner, but I often find someone dipping into it about 10:00 at night, just can't stay away.

Raspberry Dreams Come True

I look forward to the day of raspberries every year. This year I got my fill picking from my mother in laws raspberry bushes. I ended up with 4 cake pan fulls. I owe thanks to My niece McKenna and my mother in law who started at 6:00 in the morning helping me with the great task of picking. I got 8 quarts of freezer jam, 4 quarts frozen, and some to spare for a cheesecake.

Summer Mornings On the Farm

Mornings on the farm are like no other. I woke early to find my kids already out for the first day of detasseling sweet corn with the crew. I quickly dressed and headed out to figure out what it was all about. When arriving at about 6:40, I soon realized the peacefulness and vibrant colors that emulated through the crisp air. I saw workers silently working in the fields as if they were Godsends to care and preserve the moment in time that God would look down at in shear satisfaction of his creation. I can only remember a few times in my life when I have felt the same impressions sooth my soul. I am thankful for these small moments in time that will forever imprint my being.

Wassmer Christmas Party

Spur of the moment party. It was very fun. The pinata was done inside because of the 12 degree weather outside. We had kararte style pinata. Thanks Kerry for the great pinata!
